In having self-love, we should not be arrogant or selfish to the point of not wanting to help others because we are so focused on ourselves. We love to help others as someone maybe worse off than you are, be humble and gentle. Being humble and gentle doesn't require you to be a doormat to others and be taken advantage of, stand your ground as far as boundaries. But also make allowances for other faults, as we never know what someone maybe going through where they don't know how to react or respond.
